In this article, let us look at a new widget that Revit Addin Wizard (RevitAddinWizard) provides, Source Pack & Go. As its name indicates, the widget is to help wrap up the current opened whole solution or any combinations of its projects and folders into a standard ZIP file with a chosen friendly naming convention and place it in a local folder or send it via an Outlook email, or both.
It can be found from both the Revit Addin Widget menu group and the toolbar:
When the Source Pack & Go menu item or tool icon is clicked, the Source Pack & Go window will show up.
The What to Pack is chosen as the current whole solution by default. It can be changed to any combinations of all available projects and folders.
The Where to Go can be set with various easy to use and user friendly options, e.g. to the local folder C:\Temp with a time stamping file naming convention as demonstrated.
After the OK button is pressed, the ZIP file will be created accordingly with the naming convention and placed at the specified location.
RevitAddinWizard will provide more and more and cooler and cooler widgets in the near future. Please stay tuned.
